JOB SUMMARY

The purpose of this role is to ensure accurate and secure inventory control and management within Kessler Fine Jewelry; a critical function directly tied to both profitability and operational success. This position safeguards the business through strict chain of custody procedures, verifying vendor shipments, confirming item authenticity, and ensuring precise tagging and entry into inventory systems. By maintaining rigorous accuracy and attention to detail, the role protects against significant financial loss — whether from misplaced or mishandled items or from incorrect pricing entries that can severely impact margins. Ultimately, this position supports both security and profitability, providing the foundation for accounting accuracy, operational efficiency, and sustained success in a high-value retail environment.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES 

Primary duties, responsibilities, and tasks include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Director of Fine Jewelry and the accounting/payroll departments to ensure accurate financial and operational alignment.

  • Partner with the director to create and manage budgets, sales forecasts, performance goals and objectives that drive profitability and efficiency.

  • Oversee the receiving, verification, pricing, tagging and photographing of inventory, ensuring accuracy, security, and compliance with chain of custody procedures.

  • Accurately document, process and manage invoices, payables and payroll, maintaining strict attention to detail and adherence to financial controls.

  • Uphold inventory integrity by safeguarding against errors.

  • Complete additional responsibilities including properly performing all Gallery Sales Consultant related tasks.

  • Assist with art and product curation, including sourcing, assortment, signage, and maintaining brand standards for gallery displays, while supporting the planning and execution of artist events.

  • Support operational systems by consistent activity in POS and ensuring accurate POS data entry and adjustments, completing end-of-month inventory controls and maintaining consistent functionality within all programs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS  
  • Master of Business Administration MBA – preferred
  • Two years’ experience in luxury retail, fine art and/pr similar scope and title – preferred
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • No direct reports
WORK ENVIRONMENT 
  • The candidate must be comfortable working in a shared space, with constant noise, without the use of a private office.
  • The candidate must be able to cope with frequent changing priorities and deadlines with a high degree of optimism, professionalism & collaboration.
  • Schedules may vary from week to week based on business demands, team availability, and performance, with or without notice.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to move 10lbs on a daily basis.
  • Push, pull, and lift up to 50lbs on a weekly basis.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to travel by foot, car, bus, airplane or other means of transportation which require sitting, waiting and standing for long and short periods of time.
